Casino Superlines Review

Casino Superlines is a relatively new online casino, established in 2017. It is owned and operated by Equinox Dynamic N.V., a company registered in Curacao. Equinox Dynamic is also certified by the local gambling authorities to conduct gambling operations and carries a license from the government.
The Superlines brand is one of the main properties of the company and one of their more successful online casinos. Since it was released to the general public, Casino Superlines has only increased in popularity. This is due to the fact that it offers a solid gambling experience and is available to a wide player base. There are hundreds of slots and table games on offer, allowing anyone to have a good time. Moreover, the casino also provides players with worthwhile promotions and supports a large number of payment services, thereby making it easy for anyone to quickly come on board. In this review, we will take a look at the major aspects of Casino Superlines and provide you with our honest feedback.

Casino Superlines Promotions and Bonuses

The Welcome Package Casino Superlines will give you the opportunity to greatly increase your bankroll over the first few deposits. Your first deposit will be matched an amazing 400% up to €1,000. Effectively, you will have five times the deposit amount to play with. When you make your second deposit, the percentage match is humbler than the previous one but still pretty good. The second part of the offer involves a 100% match up to €1,000, while the third bonus is a 200% match up to €1,000. All in all, you can get up to €3,000 in bonus funds and that is absolutely great. Of course, you will need to deposit a minimum of €20 each time to get your bonus.
Additionally, there are certain rules that you have to follow if you want to get the most out of your bonus. For one, there is a wagering requirement that you have to fulfil before you are allowed to withdraw the funds which amounts to 45 times the value of the bonus. For the purposes of the wagering, your maximum bet will be limited to €5.00 at a time and exceeding this cap may result in the invalidation of the bonus. Moreover, the requirement can only be met while playing slots and scratchcards, with table games and other game types being excluded. Additionally, specific slot titles have reduced contributions while others are altogether excluded. As far as withdrawals are concerned, you can only cash in a sum resulting from your bonus that does not exceed 20x the original deposit amount.

Casino Superlines Software Providers

One thing that many gamblers overlook when considering an online casino is where the games of the given casino come from. Software providers are an essential part of the online gambling industry, developing the games that we all love to play. However, there are many such companies out there, each offering specific titles. Casino Superlines has partnered up with some of the most respected software providers in the business and was able to acquire a substantial library of casino games. Among the list of software providers, we find large names such as NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, Betsoft, Play’n GO, 1×2 Games, Amaya, Thunderkick, Elk Studios and others.
Each of these software providers has a history of creating high-quality slots and table games, allowing customers to have a great time gambling on the Internet. Their names alone should speak volumes regarding the quality of their product and with hundreds of games to choose from, you will be able to play to your heart’s content.

Casino Superlines Banking

Managing your bankroll is an important skill for any gambler and you also need to be able to easily move funds between your personal balance and your casino account. At Casino Superlines, you will not be able to use physical cash and as a result, you will be required to utilize one of the many online payment solutions supported by the casino.
These are available in several different forms – credit cards, eWallets, online banking, prepaid solutions and mobile payments. Typically the minimum deposit, regardless of what method you use, begins at €20. The maximum limits, however, will vary depending on the service.
If you choose to make your deposit with a credit card, you will be able to use the three most popular brands out there – Visa, MasterCard and Maestro. Alternatively, you may also opt to use an eWallet service due to their many advantages. In such a case, you will be able to manage your bankroll with Skrill, Neteller, Qiwi Wallet, and Przelewy24. These allow for instant deposits and quick withdrawals, where supported. Moreover, they also allow you to maintain some degree of anonymity on the Internet.
As far as online banking services are concerned, Casino Superlines gives you a lot of options. More specifically, you will have at your disposal UseMyServices, EPS, PostePay, TrustPay, POLi, EasyEFT, Sofort, GiroPay, Interac Online, and Trustly. While these can make instant deposits, you need to consider that many are regional services and may not be available to you. Prepaid solutions are available in the form of ecoPayz and Paysafecard, whereas mobile payments can be made via Zimpler and Siru Mobile. Alternatively, you may also make a deposit in Bitcoin if you are a crypto enthusiast.
Withdrawals are available, though not via all the above-listed services. You will be able to cash in your balance with Neteller, Visa, Skrill, Qiwi Wallet and Bitcoin. If you made a deposit with a service that does not support withdrawals, the casino will be more than happy to send you your money via Bank Transfer. The processing times will vary significantly between the different withdrawal solutions. Credit card withdrawals can take several days to clear, whereas transactions issued to eWallets will process almost instantly once they are sent. The minimum withdrawal starts at €100 and the maximum goes up to €5,000 per month.

Casino Superlines Games

The games selection is the primary reason why you would want to join Casino Superlines. It comes with more than 600 unique titles and each gives you the opportunity to experience something new and exciting. These span multiple different game types, including but not limited to slots, roulette, blackjack, progressive jackpots, live dealer titles and others. There is always something new to play so you will be occupied for quite a long time if you choose to join Casino Superlines. Below, we will outline some of the more popular genres and also make mention of the worthwhile titles that you can play.

Slots

If you are into slots then Casino Superlines certainly has something for you. The majority of the gaming library consists of slot games and there are more than 500 unique titles for you to enjoy. They come in a variety of different forms – video slots, classic slots, with 20 paylines, with 25 paylines, with 40 lines, etc. Regardless of what your preference is, you will find it here without a doubt.
As for the specific titles that you can enjoy, there is a large variety of themes and aesthetics in the slots category. Classic-themed games are always popular with prominent examples including Sevens & Fruits, Fruity Wild, Golden 7 Fruits, and more. Alternatively, you can also have a lot of fun with the animal-themed titles as well. Particularly, Golden Mane, Nuts Commander, Safari Spin, and Birds being among the more interesting. Of course, we also recommend that you try out some of the games with the Asian culture theme, namely Dragon King, Xing Guardian, Dragon Lady, 12 Animals and others.
Slots inspired by mythology are always popular and for good reason. At Casino Superlines, you will be able to play Viking Gods: Thor and Loki, Medusa II, Thunder Zeus, Miss Midas, Zeus the Thunderer II and others. Crime is also a popular theme at Casino Superlines, with notable games like The Slotfather 2, Cosa Nostra, Yakuza, Art of the Heist and others. Of course, these are only a few examples of what awaits you at this online casino. There are hundreds of titles at your disposal and they are only a few clicks away.

Table Games

The table games selection is downright humble when compared to the slots one, yet still, there are some excellent titles awaiting you at Casino Superlines. These come in the form of blackjack, roulette and other table game types.
If roulette is your game of choice, you will have several titles to choose from. These include the classic variations – European and American Roulette – as well as some more interesting ones that put an additional twist on the original roulette formula. The second type can be played in the form of Zero Spin Roulette, Solen Prive Roulette, Micro Roulette, Premium Roulette and more. Regardless of what you choose to play, we are sure that you will have a great time with the available games. The betting limits are quite permissive across the board and you will be able to make good use of your bankroll.
Insofar as blackjack is concerned, there are a handful of variations that you can try your luck on. These are available in the form of American Blackjack, VIP Blackjack, and Classic Blackjack. The more intricate variations come in the form of Blackjack Switch, which allows you to exchange cards between two hands, and Blackjack Surrender where you can easily forfeit your hand and reclaim some of your original stake should things take a turn for the worst. Much like the roulette titles, the available blackjack games are also suitable for both high rollers and casual players on account of the wide betting limits.
Of course, you should also not ignore the casino poker offerings either. While not the most popular game type, casino poker can certainly deliver an excellent gambling experience. At Casino Superlines, you will have the opportunity to several variations of casino poker, namely, Caribbean Poker, Casino Hold’em Poker and Poker Three. If casino poker is not to your liking, then you can also consider Baccarat, Baccarat 777 or Keno.

Progressive Jackpots

If you are looking to one large lump sum all at once, then the only game type that can meet this expectation is the progressive jackpot genre. Featuring large prize pools, these games give you the opportunity to win a small fortune if your luck is good enough. They typically come in the form of slots and this is also the case at Casino Superlines. You will be able to try your luck on some highly entertaining games, such as Dark Harbour Jackpot, Magic Destiny, Fear the Zombies, The Giant, Lagertha, Sunset and more. Even if you do not win the jackpot during your first session, you can be sure that you will have a great time simply spinning the reels.

Live Casino

When it comes to online casino gaming you will rarely find a better experience than in the Live Casino section. Live dealer titles represent the best that the industry has to offer and each game allows you to experience a different classic game type. At Casino Superlines, you have the opportunity to try out some live dealer titles, hosted by professional dealers and offering the genuine land-based casino experience. More specifically, you will be able to play Baccarat, Casino Hold’em, European Roulette, and Blackjack. Usually, live dealer games have slightly higher minimums than the typical virtual title, however, this should not prevent casual players from participating in the fun.

Casino Superlines Licensing and Regulations

Licensing is a major factor when it comes to choosing an online gambling website. There are only a few ways to determine the legitimacy of a given online casino and you want to make sure that any website you frequent is a legal and trustworthy operation. To this end, you wish to avoid casinos without licensing or from institutions with a bad reputation. Fortunately, Casino Superlines does not fall in either of those categories. The operator behind this casino is licensed by the Government of Curacao, one of the major regulators of online gambling websites outside of Europe. As a result of this, you can be sure that you will have a fair betting experience. In order to acquire this license, Casino Superlines has had to undergo strict audits of the RNG systems to make sure that everything is above board and that the results from games are truly random. With this in mind, you can be sure that when you play at Superlines you will be treated fairly and any winning or losing streak will be solely the product of chance.

Casino Superlines Customer Support

Something that you should take seriously is the customer support available at the casino. Depending on how long you play, there will come a time that you may need to contact customer service to resolve something or to simply ask a question. In such a scenario, you want to make sure that there will be someone on the other side who will take you seriously and provide genuine help.
At Casino Superlines, you will have several methods of contacting customer support. The live chat system is the best means at your disposal. It allows for instant communication in real time and is the most efficient way to reach the support staff. Alternatively, you may also opt-in for phone support. The casino maintains a direct line that you can call, available at +421 2330 560 65. Keep in mind that charges may apply depending on your carrier plan. Finally, if neither of those methods is suitable for you, consider contacting the casino by email. You can forward all of your messages to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and you expect a response within the next 24 hours.
Additionally, there is also a detailed FAQ section, where you will find the answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Advantages of Playing Different Online Casino Games

Playing at one online casino all the time can create a comfort level for the user. The navigation is easy, the processes are familiar and friendliness has been established with the casino support staff. If the player plays sporadically at casinos then there is a net advantage in this comfort level. However, if regular players stick to one online private club then they will have to face certain disadvantages.
First of all, playing at one internet casino all the time can get boring. The player is in the same playing environment all the time and this brings with it a sense of an idea. One way of combining familiarity and newness is by wagering at different casinos of the same group. Casinos of the same group use the same software, have very similar navigation and also share promotion schemes. However, they are usually based on different themes and create different playing environments. Hence players can experience change without losing out on the sameness. Another advantage of playing at different online gambling of the same group is that the loyalty rewards scheme is common. Hence no matter on which group casino the players wager their loyalty points accumulates in a common pool. Take, for example, the Casino Rewards group, which is one of the largest online nightclub groups. Its Blackjack Ballroom brand offers a classic and elitist environment. Golden Tiger Casino and Lucky Emperor Casino have an Asian look. Aztec Riches Casino and Yukon Gold Casino have the ancient civilization's theme. And there is the Captain Cooks Casino which takes players on a voyage of exploration and discovery.
However, beyond the point playing with the same software can also get boring. The games are identical and playing the same game is again and again even at different online casinos takes away from the excitement. There are several reputed gaming software providers who have their own set of games and their own strengths. In order to enjoy online gaming to the maxim it is essential to try out online social establishment powered by different software providers. Micro gaming offers the Gold Series of table games like blackjack and roulette, which have a large number of features and considerable customization. Crypto logic offers branded online slot games that bring branded characters like Superman and the Incredible Hulk to life. Vegas Technology specializes in online tournaments. Therefore, by playing at online social establishment powered by different software providers, players can purchase the best games from each online social establishment and thus enhance their gaming experience. Playing at online casinos powered by different software providers also enables players to keep abreast of the latest happenings in online gaming.
There is one very important commercial reason for playing at more than one online social establishment. Most online casinos impose limits on the amount is that can be deposited or wagered or withdrawn in a given week or month. If players wager at only one online social establishment then they are bound to be constrained by these limits. By wagering at many online casinos players can circumvent these limits imposed. If the deposit limit at one online social establishment is reached then the players can switch to another casino. Their gaming can continue unimpeded.
Ideally, a player should register at about five online casinos covering at least three different software providers. This will give him all the variety that he needs and the freedom to wager the way he wants to. Finally there are some well established and experienced web sites are offering these online casino games to their valuable customers. For more information and details, please visit their valuable web site.

Madrid poker session 2

Today I had to skip a trip to Toledo because I drank too much the night before and woke up with a hangover that wasn't too bad, but bad enough to not be able to walk all day. I decided since I haven't busted my 1 bullet bankroll at 1/2 I would go back to the casino and see if I can profit again. I decided to take Psychohorak's advice for a change of scenery and went to the Casino Gran Madrid Colón, which happened to be only an extra 15 minute walk from Casino Gran Via and only runs 1/2 games according to their website. When I initially got there, I forgot my passport and they wouldn't take my drivers license this time so I got a bit tilted having to pay for another cab to go back to the hotel (took a taxi initially because I wanted to play right away). I double-checked their website and it turns out the poker room doesn't even open until 4:00 PM, so I waited a couple of hours and got there at 4:30, and no games were running because it was too early. Instead of walking all the way back or pay for another taxi, I just decided to chill at the sports betting area until a game opened up.

The casino itself is really nice, nicer than Casino Gran Via in my opinion. Casino Gran Via has an older, more elegant look to it, and Casino Gran Madrid Colón is more modern and open which I really liked, with the poker room separate from other table games just past the numerous roulette tables. After about 45 minutes waiting in the sports betting area, I met and chatted with a group of really nice Indian people who were waiting on the 35 Euro tournament that was about to start at 6:00. I watched from the rail for about 45 minutes until enough people joined the cash game which was 2/2 instead of 1/2 or 1/3, which was fine by me since I could buy in with 100BB. I bought in for €200, was 7-handed the majority of the time and was sat with the Asian American tourist again but he was with 2 of his friends as well. I accidentally had my passport on the table and the one sitting next to my right noticed and we talked for a bit, turns out he goes to UCI which is 15 minutes from my home which was kind of funny. I played for a little less than an hour and a half because I had to go to a dinner reservation at 8:00 (ended up playing until a little past 8:00 because I thought the reservation was at 8:30). I ended up another €109 for the session, kept a €1 chip and tipped the dealer €8 to make an even €300 (didn't do that intentionally but it worked out to make a nice rounded number). Since I was late to dinner, I wasn't able to degen €10 at roulette which I kind of wanted to do (damn you Depaulo), but it's probably better that I didn't anyway. I planned to go back after dinner but my headache got worse and I need to wake up a little early tomorrow so I didn't. This was my last cash game session, and I plan to play a €30+5 €1500 guarantee tomorrow at the Casino Gran Via. Here are a couple of notable hands from my session:

Hand 1

Still 7-handed, I'm down about 20BB at this point, swinging back and forth mostly from missed draws. I'm on the button with Qs7s, folded around to me and I make it €6. Villain in the SB completes and BB folds, pot is now €14.
Flop comes 447 rainbow, villain checks, I cbet €8 and villain instacalls.
Turn is 447Qr, villain checks again and I raise €12. Villain thinks for a sec and calls.
River is 447QQr, I improve from 2 pair to the second nuts, I hope he's been calling with 4X (villain was playing very loose, saw him call to the river earlier with 86o and take it down) so I raise to €30. Villain thinks for a bit and lets go of his hand.

Hand 2

Down to 6-handed at this point, the OMC to my left had left a few hands earlier. I'm back down again and was card dead for an orbit or so, and was on the button just jokingly thinking please deal me aces here. Then I look down at my cards and I see AA and just laugh internally. Villain UTG+2 raised to €8, CO folds and I raise to €20. SB calls, BB folds, villain calls.
Flop comes 2TT rainbow, checked to me and I make it €30. SB folds, villain calls, and I'm really hoping he's got an overpair and isn't slowplaying a ten.
Turn is 2TTXr (turn wasn't significant, was a 6, 7, or 8 from what I remember). I continue once again for €52, villain tanks for a bit and calls, and I think for sure he doesn't have a ten unless he's really good at hollywooding.
The river is 2TTXT, so now I have the second nuts again. Villain thinks and checks, and I hollywood for a little bit before shoving my remaining €62. Villain counts out the chips and tanks for at least 30 seconds, I'm now extremely confident but try to not look that way with my heart beating out of my chest. Villain reluctantly calls and I table the bullets, and villain drops his head and tables JJ. I scoop the biggest pot out of both sessions.

Overall I think I played almost every hand I got this session correctly, maybe could've had a thinner value bet in hand 1 from above. I'm definitely happy I profited both sessions, especially since I don't have a 1/2 bankroll and was playing mostly for the experience. Hopefully the tournament tomorrow is just as soft or softer, as I feel confident enough to at least get ITM. I plan on depositing about half my winnings back online so I can play some higher micro-stake games.

SwanpJew's Sunday Showdown - August 24, 2014

This week's column was going to cover an advanced play like stealing the blinds from UTG or shoving pre into a dry pot. However, it's come to my attention that a lot of folks here are still struggling with the fundamentals. Namely, basic poker etiquette.
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed with my readership. How can you expect to get to my level if you haven't put in the time to learn how to properly conduct yourself at the table? You think you deserve to walk away from the felt with five racks of Sharrita's stickiest chips and go home with a hot cocktail waitress and/or call girl every night if you don't act like a champion?
This week's topic is how to slowroll.
If you're going to violate one of the few unbreakable rules of conduct in a game which consists of taking your opponents' money, then setting their souls on fire and pissing on the ashes, at least do it correctly. Here's a classic example from WAY before I met Liv. Seriously, this is ancient history. Way, way before.
1/2 NL at Bennie Bunion's Horse Tack Casino in Slidell, Louisiana (burned down; now a for-profit college / chicken and waffles restaurant)
Hero (UTG): $4,709 Vanessa Rousso (MP): $2,004 Old Lady Who Keeps Complaining about the A/C Being Too High (HJ): $109.50 Old Asian Nit (CO): $50 Guy More Interested in the Football Game on TV than the Game He's Actually Playing (BU): $170 Uncomfortably Close Fat Guy (SB): $326 [Villain] The Burger King Himself (BB): $2,865
Background: Villain has been splashing around a bit, but tends to give up easily on the turn. He showed down with Qs3s after a big raising war and cracked SB's pocket Aces when he turned two pair. SB looked like he was going to be upset until Villain reminded him he was suited.
Hero's image is great. That Issey Miyake eau de toilette is a real head-turner, too. So far, it's gotten two honey bees to cling to his poker-chips-and-flames polo shirt. I'm guessing they were female. Probably.
Action:
Preflop: Hero has KcJd. Hero raises to $20. MP, HJ, CO fold. BU tanks. No, wait, he's just sitting there with a slack jaw, watching the tube.
Dealer taps the felt in front of BU. BU snaps out of it.
BU says, “It's on me?” BU calls $2.
Dealer says, “The bet is $20, sir.”
BU looks around, befuddled. “Who raised?” he asks, like it makes a difference.
Dealer says, “That extremely good-smelling man with the tasteful polo.”
Dealer has a name tag reading “Danielle,” which is a tell that Dealer is female.
BU looks at his cards again. Swaps them face down. Peels up their corners up again. Riffles his chips.
SB folds in disgust.
BB raises to 60.
Hero calls 60.
BU is watching the TV when Dealer tears her eyes and nose away from temptation in Seat 3.
BU says, “Oh, still on me? Sorry, I thought I folded.”
BU folds.
Hero says, “Why are you even here?”
Pot to the flop: $121
Preflop Thoughts: The only thing worse than holding up the action when you're watching sports on the TV is yelling at the dogs on the simulcast. They can't hear you, genius. And what if they could? Chances are, those dogs barely speak English.
I get taking an interest in a game when you've got money on it, but just watch the SportsCenter highlights in the morning. You get all of the benefits of seeming like you're in the know without having wasted four hours of your weekend drinking bad beer and listening to fat guys yell in your ear about how bad a play from an elite athlete was.
Oh, right, the hand. I see a lot of poker authors calling this a “rookie hand” or a “parking lot hand.” I'm not a rookie and I'm taking a taxi home, so it's okay to open with this from UTG. Can you think of any other reason I shouldn't have raised here? Me neither. I'm also never folding to a raise from the blinds. If someone's too dense to take their discount and instead pay more into the hand, they're obviously easy money. Oh, and I just now noticed I have position, so that's good too.
Flop: Kd8s2h
Hero: Checks.
MP inhales deeply, turns her head subtly to the right. A whiff of something sexy and bold comes off her blonde locks. Is that Alien by Thierry Mugler? MP smiles shyly at Hero, showing teeth that have seen a Crest Whitestrip or two.
Hero winks.
BB: Bets $80.
Hero: Calls.
Pot to the turn: $281
Flop Thoughts: You don't wear that perfume unless you're hoping to get some attention. Well, sweet thing, you got it. Yummy.
Hero: Furtively checks MP for antennae, penis, or stinger—sees none. Game on.
Turn 5c
Hero: Checks.
BB: Bets $10.
Hero tanks.
MP smiles encouragingly.
Hero calls.
Pot to the turn: $301
Turn Thoughts: The tendrils of fear nip at my soul when he bets a 28th of the pot. That's an advanced tactic I discuss in a classic title in my series, SwanpJew's Power Poker Guide to Micro-betting For Value. Has the King read my books? Then, SB's gorgeous smile shakes the cobwebs from my head and rushes blood to my nethers. Of course he hasn't read my books. If he had, he'd be smart enough to not play a hand with me, no matter how small the pot is.
River 7c
Hero: Checks.
BB: Bets $1,000 straight.
Hero: Snap-calls.
River Thoughts: If he hadn't read my books, available in most abandoned locations where Borders used to be, then the bet on the turn was excruciatingly stupid. Who bets 1/28 of the pot without knowing what to do on the river? My plan was to shove over his bet, but I decide to just call because he could have slowplayed a monster like 52s—which warrants a shove on the flop, as you all would know if you'd read SwanpJew's Power Poker Guide to Getting Max Value From Bottom Pair, No Kicker. Or was it SwanpJew's Power Poker Guide to Shoving the Flop for Fun and Profit? Or maybe SwanpJew's Power Poker Guide to Annoying the Table into Bad Play with Worse Play? Honestly, they all sort of blend together to me after a while. You try writing 54 books on poker and telling them apart.
Results: BB turns over QhQd.
Hero sits perfectly still, like he's expecting another round of betting.
Dealer says, “Showdown, gentlemen.”
Hero has a “who, me?” look. Sits up straighter and looks at the board like he just realized cards were there this whole time.
Hero frowns slightly.
Hero seems to be picking up his cards to muck them, but sets them down instead. Hero repeats this another two or three times.
Hero says, “Queens, huh?” and pats the felt.
Hero acts like he's mucking, but flips over the Jack. Pauses.
Dealer begins to push the pot to BB. Hero gently grabs her arm. The touch is electrifying. Dealer has a rapturous expression. MP shoots her a withering glare.
Hero says, “Not so fast, dollface.”
Hero flips over the King. MP, CO, HJ, SB, and Dealer all go “Oooooooh!”
After rake and jackpot drop, Hero takes down a $200 pot.
BU looks around, says, “Is it on me?”
Aftermath: Hero decides to pack it in for the night. The dealer calls for security and a chip runner to bring a rolling suitcase, as per standard operating procedure. MP “suddenly remembers she forgot something” in the backseat of her car and asks Hero to help her look for it. Dealer has a frantic conversation with the floor to try to get relieved. Dealer pulls the “sudden explosive diarrhea” and “dying Grandma” combo to lock up the argument.
Hero contemplates officiating one heads-up hand of hold 'em to determine the grand prize winner. Anyone know how to rig a deck to create a chopped pot?
Just kidding. I totally already do.
On the way out, I barely hear BB mutter, “Strike two.” Stupid bastard thinks we're playing baseball.
Until next time, keep in mind that you can't semi-bluff on the river unless you're semi-sure you've got the best hand.
Good night, poker!
Post-script: I'm getting tons of feedback about this column, most of it positive, some of it downright creepy. There's a lot of SwanpJewy goodness in the future, but it's up to you whether it comes in the form of an AMA, a video lesson, or whatever. Much to the chagrin of dalonelybaptist, there shan't be a SwanpJew/LivB bedroom livestream. Probably. Make your suggestions, cast your votes, and I'll make it happen! -SJ

What's really going on

People here are smart enough to figure out what is going on, but it needs to be spelled out in plain english.
TL;DR: HiRez is moving on to their PUBG Battle Royale project. Paladins is being abandoned.
1.) PUBG released on steam and became an overnight success, becoming the king of steam and even decrowning very large and successful established esports games such as DOTA 2. PUBG also partnered with Bluehole Studios, an Korean publisher studio and also captured the Asian market -becoming one of the most financially successful steam games in the history of steam in less than a year.
2.) Despite "mediocre" success, Paladins still suffered in the shadow of Overwatch. Overwatch itself was also losing players both to PUBG and simply due to lack of player retention. Matches are short and Overwatch found little success as an esports game due to being too hard to watch combined with the failure of OW League. The glacial content release schedule of OW didn't help either. As the king of the "hero shooter" genre, any failure of Overwatch ripples through the genre. Other companies that were looking to cash in on the success of the "hero shooter" recipie began to get marketing doubts and the grass starts looking greener when you look at the PUBG "Battle Royale" game time -which is arguably more successful than Overwatch internationally.
3.) HiRez is generally a copycat company that creates easy access mediocre copies of already successful games. This is evident in both SMITE and in PALADINS, which were meant to cash in on the markets of League of Legends and Overwatch. The company CEO, Eren Gorez has a reputation of jumping to the most popular ship and abandoning projects for the "next best thing." Our first mistake was to expect a quality project from them.
4.) Rumormills are circulating about a hidden Tribes "Battle Royale" project (that is likely going to be a cheap knockoff of the actual PUBG a la Fortnite). We have seen dev compliants from behind HiRez closed doors and massive company restructuring. It was evident that a large amount of support was pulled from Paladins to work on this new project -likely directed by Gorez and marketing analyst to shift all resources into capitalizing on the global success of PBUG -which is raking in so much money internationally that other CEOs are seething at Bluehole's ledgers with jealousy -which is likely the position Gorez is in right now.
5.) Despite the Starwars: Battlefront debacle, the same system is enforced on Paladins along with extremely grindy metrics for progression. News on new champions came to a standstill and a development team that is normally pretty engaged with the community goes silent. OB64 releases with a ton of bugs, HiRez refuses to retroactively reward veteran players for lost earnings, rumblings of dev unhappiness brew behind closed doors (likely because they are being forced off a project they are attached to), and it is blatantly obvious that Paladins is going into maintenance mode. The "Cards Unbound" is an obvious attempt to give players a giant stick to chew on while HiRez moves on to the Battle Royal game type, which Gorez thinks will pull much more revenue than the "Hero Shooter," which is already dominated by Overwatch (which is in turn, being dominated by PUBG). You can tell of what little effort is going into Paladins right now by the crappy lore release and general quality of the latest pages (after they had extra weeks of polishing time).
So what did we learn?
-Don't buy into early access games unless it is the company's ONLY game (e.g. Ark, PUBG). Many early access games are just cash balloons for other projects or experiments that will have micro-transaction overhauls near the end of their "release" cycle that will go straight for your wallet (e.g. cards unbound, the new shipyard in another game called "Dreadnought").
-If a early access game is released by a company with multiple projects (e.g. HiRez with SMITE, Tribes, etc.) and there is a history of abandonment and/or those early access games are clones of successful market dominators like OW than that is a huge red flag.
-Don't trust HiRez or buy into their future projects because they will simply be abandoned. It is obvious that they create "quick buck" projects. HiRez studios, as noted by actual devs that work there, is a staging ground for people new in the gaming industry to start and go somewhere better (I highly doubt anyone wants to stay there for an extended period). Their leadership things that game management is a platformer and will jump from island to island depending on where the money is. I don't sense that there is any artistic drive at that studio to make a quality game on par with something like Bloodborne, Skyrim, the Witcher 2, Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc.
-Look into other hobbys outside of gaming. Games are great time wasters and used to be an artistic platform for some really creative stuff but monetization is ruining the market and we are likely to see more things happen like Paladins OB64 in other games. Choose your games carefully, especially massive multiplayer games (which are the prime targets for conversion into online casinos). Go outside every now and then. There was a point in time where games had the potential to rival literature and motion pictures in terms of creativity and storytelling (some still do, like the games I noted above), but you will need to sift through alot of trash to find the good gems. Unfortunately Paladins is not one of them. For true gamings, finding quality games will become harder and harder and you will need to supplement your hobby with other things to stay happy.
-If faced with a choice between an original game and a clone of one (e.g. OW vs Paladins), always go for the original unless you absolutely hate it for some reason. As an example, DOTA 2/League vs SMITE for someone who has never played a MOBA, they should probably go for the original (DOTA2/League) first or find a high quality counterpart that good effort has been obviously sunk into (e.g. Paragon).
-When all else fails, there is always Warframe and Path of Exile, which are just mindless fun if you need a timewaster.
-Games from independent studios that support a single title (not always but likely) have a higher level of quality than a studio that supports multiple cloned projects living in the shadow of originals. HiRez is about as close to a Chinese knockoff company that you can get.
-If you are looking for high quality games from independent studios, the indie scene is looking good right now and is a rebellion against the BS that we are seeing from Triple AAA studio publishers like the dreaded EA -which has ruined battlefront, butchered mass effect + bioware studios, and purchased Titanfall creator Respawn entertainment so they can butcher them too. Yeah, don't buy EA stuff either. Both EA and HiRez, no no no no. Don't sink money into bad practices, you just hurt gaming in general.

Live MTT, TPGK facing big check-raise on two-tone flop

Friday night, $100+25 buy-in MTT at Crown Casino in Melbourne. Was my first proper live MTT that wasn't a pub poker donkament or home game. I occasionally play MTTs online, but have been focusing on micro 6max cash lately. Wasn't even close to being in my bankroll, but I wanted to have some fun before meeting up with friends.
Sat down a couple orbits ago, the table seemed to be pretty fishy (as this is one of the lowest buy-in tournaments at this casino, the only one in the state) from what I'd seen. From what I'd seen at showdown people were overvaluing weak pairs and bluffing small.
I hadn't seen villain show down yet, but he hadn't been very active since I'd been there. Seemed to be semi-competent. Hero could be seen as somewhat tight to anyone paying attention, though on the previous hand I did raise 3x over 1 limper and take it down pre.
BB (Middle-aged nit): t5,000 25 BBs UTG (Middle-aged white guy fish, was abusing French guy when I sat down): t9,000 45 BBs UTG+1 (Middle-aged white guy fish, limp re-raised KK pre earlier): t8,000 40 BBs Villain (UTG+2): t10,000 50 BBs MP1 (Semi-competent French guy): t14,000 70 BBs MP2 (Massive calling station fish): t24,000 120 BBs Hero (CO): t8,000 40 BBs BTN (Middle-aged Asian nit): t12,000 60 BBs SB (Old white guy nit): t8,000 40 BBs
Pre Flop: (t300) Hero is CO with A Q UTG folds, UTG+1 calls t200, Villain calls t200, MP1 folds, MP2 calls t200, Hero raises to t800, 5 folds, Villain calls 600, MP2 folds
I'm not used to the mass limping dynamic in live MTTs, but people had been limp/folding a bit so I thought 4bbs was a good value raise.
Flop: (t2,300) A 9 3 (2 players) Villain checks, Hero bets 1,200, Villain raises to 3,800, Hero ?
I cbet 1/2 pot for value against flush draws, weak aces and random 9s and pocket pairs that want to stick around, but am not sure where to go after the massive check raise.
After the raise, the pot is 7,300. Hero has 6,000 behind (with 2,600 to call) and Villain has 5,400 behind. If Hero calls, the pot will be 9,900 with Hero having a stack of 3,400.
What should we do in this spot whilst fairly readless? I don't think we can call because of how little we have behind, so the question is should we be folding or jamming?
